Best way to describe this amazing and interesting food experience is to start by explaining that the owner, Bobby Acon, and his family left China many many years ago, opening several restaurants in Costa Rica, Panama, and Venezuela. These vibrant locations, especially Venezuela, have brought variety to Bobby’s vision here at Salon Canton. Start with barbecue pork spare ribs marinated for 24 hours in a secret mixture, then move on to the lettuce wraps in a cup of iceberg with stir-fried duck, water chestnuts, sesame seeds and crunchy carrots and celery. There’s also Kowloon-style fried rice with shrimp and scrambled egg bits, named for the mainland of northern Hong Kong. To continue, try their Singapore-style rice vermicelli, tossed with shrimp and pork in curry sauce tinted yellow from turmeric. Not to mention the pan-fried egg noodles are good for slurping with a choice of chicken, shrimp, pork or beef. We could go on but we wouldn’t want to spoil the surprise – C’mon on in!!
